September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. CMTBC will honour the day by closing the College’s office.
CMTBC has also made a commitment to action to address Indigenous-specific racism and discrimination in BC’s health care system, beginning with a new cultural safety and humility resource on the CMTBC website.
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day, recognizes the tragic legacy of residential schools, honouring the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.
CMTBC encourages RMTs and College staff to reflect on the significance of the day and to participate in a reconciliation-related activity in your area. Events taking place in BC to mark the day include the following:
