CMTBC is the professional regulatory body that governs and regulates over 5,000 RMTs in British Columbia. Operating under the Health Professions Act, CMTBC oversees the practice of the profession and acts in the public interest by, among other things, setting entry to practice criteria and administering entrance examinations; setting ethical and practice standards for RMTs; responding to and investigating public complaints, and imposing professional discipline. CMTBC also coordinates with (currently) 19 other health regulatory bodies in BC as a member of the BC Health Regulators (BCHR) group. CMTBC is headed by its Registrar/CEO, while governance is provided by a Board comprised of both elected RMTs and of public members appointed by the provincial government.
As Manager, Strategic Initiatives, you will report directly to the Registrar/CEO and coordinate, oversee and manage the achievement of the strategic priorities identified in CMTBC’s current (2020-2022) strategic plan, as well as other key projects and priorities identified by the Registrar/CEO and the senior management team.
Responsibilities will necessitate working in conjunction with the Registrar/CEO, CMTBC staff, and external contractors and vendors, and will include the following:
Qualifications (education and experience)
Degree in management, accounting, business or other similar professional designation; minimum of three to five years’ experience either in an regulatory (preferred) or other organizational setting (e.g. government, corporate, or non-profit) with demonstrated track record of responsibility for project management and achievement of goals; excellent oral and written communications skills; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively both within an organization and with external partners; high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel; experience working with databases; project management certification (PMP) not required, but an asset.
