CMTBC is transitioning the Interim Guidelines for Return to Practice (COVID-19) to Communicable Disease Prevention Requirements that address general communicable disease prevention and the overall health and safety of RMTs and their patients.
CMTBC reminds registrants that all Practising RMTs are required to hold valid professional liability insurance of at least $2,000,000 per claim or per occurrence.
The BC Ministry of Health has confirmed its intention to amalgamate 11 current health profession regulatory colleges, including CMTBC, by the end of June 2024.
CMTBC has posted the 2022 Annual Report and Audited Financial Statements on the CMTBC website.
Supporting Indigenous cultural safety and humility in health care is an important commitment for CMTBC. The College is moving forward with that commitment by following a path grounded in education and an understanding of history, which is now leading to the development of a Standard of Practice.
CMTBC provides practice advice that helps bridge what is written in the Standards of Practice, Bylaws, and Code of Ethics, and make it applicable to an RMT’s practice.
CMTBC will launch a redesigned Quality Assurance program in January 2024. Based on guiding principles, the redesigned program will allow CMTBC to meet its public protection mandate and provide for a meaningful and relevant process for all RMTs.
