Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation recruiting accreditation surveyors

The Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation (CMTCA) is recruiting accreditation surveyors.

CMTCA accredits massage therapy education programs in provinces where massage therapy is regulated, including BC, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island.

In 2017, CMTBC’s Board accepted CMTCA accreditation (at the three- and five-year levels) as meeting CMTBC’s requirements for entry-to-practice. Since January 1, 2020, CMTBC – along with other massage therapy regulators across Canada – has been contributing to CMTCA’s operating funding.

CMTCA is inviting individuals with demonstrated skills and experience to apply to become CMTCA surveyors. Applications are due October 22, 2021. Selected surveyor candidates will be invited to attend a five-day orientation and training to be held in BC in late fall 2021.

Accreditation surveyors participate in three types of accreditation reviews: preliminary accreditation reviews and virtual site visits (both completed from home), and in-person site visits (which involve travel to the education program).

For more information, including a link to an application form, see the CMTCA surveyor recruitment announcement (PDF).
