CMTBC joins in celebration of International Allied Health Professions Day

October 14, 2022 will be International Allied Health Professions Day. Since 2018, International Allied Health Professions Day has been celebrated to recognize the significant contributions of the allied health workforce around the world.

In BC, the allied health workforce consists of approximately 75,000 individuals in more than 70 disciplines, including RMTs and other regulated health professionals. Allied health professionals provide a range of preventative, diagnostic, technical, and therapeutic health services.

CMTBC joins with partners in the BC health system and the general public in recognizing allied health professionals and celebrating International Allied Health Professions Day.

As part of its celebration of International Allied Health Professions Day, the Allied Health Policy Secretariat at the Ministry of Heath has sent a letter to BC allied health professionals (PDF).

Between May and July 2021, the Allied Health Policy Secretariat completed a comprehensive provincial allied health consultation to gather feedback on the state of allied health in BC. The information gathered is being used to inform a three-year Allied Health Strategic Plan that will drive the mission, vision, philosophy, and direction of allied health in BC.
