CMTBC offers RMTs license agreement to permit use of the CMTBC logo

CMTBC has created a logo license agreement. Practicing RMTs in good standing with the College who sign and submit the agreement may use the CMTBC logo on their websites or on printed materials solely in connection with the clinical practice of massage therapy, as defined by the Massage Therapists Regulation.

To control any unauthorized or improper use of the logo, CMTBC applied for and was granted “official mark” status for the CMTBC logo under the Trademarks Act. An official mark is available for use by a “public authority” – an organization or body that is under some government control. CMTBC will provide RMTs who sign the license agreement with consent to use the College’s logo, subject to the terms and conditions set out in the agreement.

The CMTBC logo may not be used for the offering, advertising, marketing, or promotion of:

  • Any training or continuing education course offered to RMTs;
  • An education program leading to a diploma or degree in massage therapy;
  • Any tool or product;
  • Any service or treatment, or practice of a health care modality, that is outside the scope of practice of massage therapy, as determined by CMTBC.

The CMTBC logo is not available to course providers or education institutions.

While RMTs who meet the criteria for using the logo may be in solo practice, in a multi-RMT clinic, or in a multi-disciplinary clinic, RMTs who practice in a workplace in which unregistered individuals provide massage may not use the logo in connection with their practice in that location.

To apply for use of the CMTBC logo, email [email protected] and request the “CMTBC Logo Licensing Agreement” form. Please complete the form and return it to [email protected]. If your form is approved, CMTBC will email you the logo in PNG format.
