CMTBC posts case studies and other resources to help RMTs understand and apply consent standard of practice

CMTBC’s new standard of practice on consent goes into effect January 15, 2019. The standard of practice, approved by the CMTBC Board at its November 23, 2018 meeting, clearly defines expectations for RMTs on how to obtain consent from patients for delivery of massage therapy. Read the standard of practice on consent.

CMTBC’s Bylaws require RMTs to comply with the standard of practice on consent. To help RMTs understand and apply the consent standard, the College has prepared detailed resources, including the following:

  • Eight case studies
  • Frequently asked questions
  • A summary of relevant BC legislation

Read the resources on the Consent page.

For more information about the consent standard of practice, read the December 5, 2018 news story on the consent standard.
