CMTBC recruits RMTs to participate in standards of practice working group

Practice standards define the minimum level of expected performance for registrants, and therefore define what constitutes safe, ethical, and competent delivery of care by RMTs.

CMTBC is recruiting RMTs interested in participating in the development of two new standards of practice and guidance regarding their application to massage therapy practice.

The two new standards will be on scope of practice and evidence-informed practice.

Successful applicants will work under the direction of CMTBC’s Manager, Practice Development and Support. A commitment between mid-July 2023 and November 2023 of approximately 10 hours per month will be required. Successful applicants will be expected to participate in the following tasks:

  • Attend 1-2 video conference meetings per month.
  • Review supporting material and research.
  • Develop resources and guidance material.

Compensation will be provided based on a set hourly rate, discussed with the successful applicants.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a practising RMT in a regulated Canadian province.
  • Masters degree or higher with a focus on clinical research.
  • Solid understanding of clinical practice in BC.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Regulatory experience will be considered an asset.
