On March 10, 2022, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced that BC would end its indoor mask requirement except for in “health-care settings”.
CMTBC has received a number of questions from RMTs asking whether this means that they and their patients can discontinue wearing masks in the clinic environment, including during treatment.
CMTBC is seeking clarification of Dr. Henry’s announcement, including specifically whether RMT practice will be included in the ongoing requirement to wear masks in health-care settings.
In the interim, CMTBC recommends that RMTs continue to adhere to the current masking requirement, as set out in CMTBC’s Interim Guidelines for Return to Practice (COVID-19), until the College receives confirmation that the masking requirement no longer applies. Once such confirmation is received, CMTBC will issue further communication and, if necessary, will amend the Interim Guidelines.
