Quality assurance (QA) Cycle 12 will run from November 1, 2018 to October 31, 2020. What’s in store for CMTBC registrants?
RMTs who renew their Active status for 2019 will require 24 CECs in Cycle 12. That includes 10 CECs from completion of new CMTBC professional development online courses or the San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety training course, for those RMTs who did not choose this option in Cycle 11.
Remaining CECs from course completion, conference attendance, and university course completion (details coming soon) will mirror requirements of the current reporting cycle, with some changes to the criteria for approval. Cycle 12 criteria will be published by September 2018, together with new course approval forms. Please note: approval of courses does not transfer automatically from Cycle 11 to Cycle 12.
CMTBC is redesigning QA for the future. The College will seek RMTs’ input on the program via a survey that will be available in late 2018. The survey will be part of a College initiative to redesign the QA program to increase the range of options available for RMTs to demonstrate competence.
RMTs who complete the survey will receive CECs that can be applied to Cycle 12 requirements. Anonymity is assured for the survey answers, which will be collected, analyzed, and aggregated. CMTBC will receive aggregated information that will guide development of the next generation quality assurance program, with a planned launch after the end of Cycle 12.
