Registration renewal begins November 1, 2018: are you ready?

Registration renewal for 2019 opens November 1, 2018. Registrants who wish to maintain their practicing status as RMTs must renew their active registration. Registrants not currently practicing in BC but wishing to maintain their status as RMTs must renew their inactive registration.

The deadline for renewing your registration for 2019 is December 15, 2018.

Registrants should renew their registration in the Registrant Portal. Beginning November 1, 2018, log on to the Registrant Portal, click the “Renew Registration” button in your Dashboard (or click “Renew Registration” in the menu at the left of your portal page), and follow the instructions. Registrants who require accommodation to use the portal should contact CMTBC.

Registration renewal requirements

Before renewing, please ensure the following registration renewal requirements have been met:

  • You have completed your Cycle 11 QA requirements, and have submitted your continuing education credits (CECs) in the Registrant Portal. The “Submit” button appears once you have reported the required number of CECs. Clicking the “Submit” button is a final step that advises CMTBC that you have completed your CECs and the information you have provided to the College about your CE activities is complete and correct. Clicking “Submit” will close your CE file for Cycle 11. For more information, see the story on completing, uploading, and submitting CECs.
  • You hold valid professional liability insurance and, if required as part of your renewal, have proof of the insurance – in PDF format – ready for uploading in the Registrant Portal.
  • You hold valid certification in Standard First Aid and CPR-C and, if required as part of your renewal, have proof of the certification – in PDF format – ready for uploading in the Registrant Portal.
  • Any outstanding fees and fines have been paid. In the Registrant Portal, click “Invoices” in the menu at the left to pay outstanding fees and fines before beginning the registration renewal process.

Payment of registration fees

Pay by credit card (Visa or Mastercard) in the Registrant Portal; cheque mailed to CMTBC; or credit or debit card, cheque, or cash in person at the CMTBC office. Please note that the College does not accept payment by online banking.

Click “Invoices” in the menu at the left in the Registrant Portal to review paid invoices.

Registration card

After renewing your registration, click “Download Annual Registration Card” in the menu at the left in the Registrant Portal to download your registration card. The card shows the date of expiry of your registration.

Late renewal and failure to renew

CMTBC encourages all RMTs to prepare their documents and renew in advance of the December 15, 2018 deadline. Late registration renewal is possible until the final deadline of January 31, 2019, but will be subject to a $100 late renewal fee. Failure to renew your registration by January 31, 2019 will result in your registration being cancelled. Section 51 of the CMTBC Bylaws provides more information on late renewal and failure to renew.
