The new CMTBC Practice Environment Standard of Practice and updated Code of Ethics both go into effect January 15, 2021.

The Practice Environment Standard defines minimum requirements for maintaining the physical environment where RMTs deliver treatment and provide care to patients, and for maintaining the objects and equipment within that environment. The Code of Ethics outlines the expectations for ethical massage therapy practice.

Small changes to the Boundaries Standard of Practice also go into effect January 15, 2021. The revisions are required due to the update of the Code of Ethics but do not change RMTs’ professional obligations.
