All RMTs voting in the 2019 CMTBC Board election are reminded that their completed ballots must be received by the College’s Registrar by March 1, 2019, 5 pm.
In January, CMTBC mailed all active registrants an election package to elect RMTs to the College’s Board. If you have not received the election package, consisting of a ballot, ballot envelope, postage-paid return envelope, and instructions for voting and returning the ballot, please contact CMTBC.
This year, five RMTs are running for three positions on the Board. To assist RMTs in making this important choice, CMTBC has posted candidates’ biographical summaries and election statements.
Each RMT elected will serve a two-year term that begins April 1, 2019. Board members meet four to five times per year and provide general governance and policy direction to CMTBC so the College can carry out its public-interest mandate.
A number of RMTs have pointed out that the word “signature” is misspelled on the ballot envelope. We are aware of and regret this error. What happened? Our printing company sent us proofs of the ballot envelope, with the word “signature” spelled correctly. After CMTBC approved the proofs, the printer changed the spelling on the ballot envelope without providing a new proof, and then mailed out the envelopes with the incorrect spelling. The printing company has acknowledged and apologized for this error, and will be refunding CMTBC for a portion of the printing cost. Unfortunately, however, it would be impractical and expensive to retrieve the envelopes as they had already been mailed.
RMTs hold CMTBC to a high standard, as they should. Where we fall short, we investigate, acknowledge, and correct. And we always appreciate feedback from those RMTs who take the time out of their busy schedules to provide it.
