The Vancouver-based Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR) has a research funding opportunity for health professionals that may be of interest to RMTs.
The MSFHR Health Professional-Investigator (HP-I) program is designed to help close the gap between health research and its implementation by supporting health professionals who are actively involved in patient care to conduct and apply research relevant to health and/or the health system. The program enables health professionals to link their practical knowledge in the care and treatment of patients with important research questions that can lead to improved quality of care.
Applicants to the program must be members in good standing of a regulated health profession, recognized under the Health Professions Act, or a health profession requiring board certification. Applicants must be actively and directly involved in patient care and hold a role that includes making clinical judgements/decisions.
MSFHR began accepting applications to the 2019 HP-I competition on January 7, 2019. The letter of intent deadline for the competition is February 11, 2019, 4:30 pm.
For full details on the competition, including guidelines, a list of 2018 award recipients, and application resources, see the 2019 Health Professional-Investigator Competition page on the MSFHR website.
MSFHR is also holding an informational webinar on the 2019 HP-I competition on January 16, 2019, 10 am. Register for the webinar here.
