Seeking RMTs to serve on Discipline Committee

CMTBC is currently inviting interested RMTs to apply to become members of the College’s Discipline Committee.

The CMTBC Discipline Committee hears and determines matters forwarded to it by the Inquiry Committee by striking a panel of three or more people to sit for each discipline hearing. A discipline hearing is a formal adjudicative process recognized under the Health Professions Act.

CMTBC’s selection process is based on the applicant’s values, attributes, and core competencies. As a committee member, your role will be to uphold CMTBC’s mandate to protect the public rather than to represent the interests of a particular group or of the profession as a whole. Training will be provided and previous experience as an adjudicator is not necessary.

Committee members are asked to sit on hearing panels for scheduled hearings, which may range from 1 to 14 days in length. You may be asked to attend in person or by video conference. Committee members will receive compensation in accordance with CMTBC’s Remuneration Policy – Board and Committee Members (PDF).

Apply by filling out the Application for CMTBC Committee Membership form (PDF), which should be sent to [email protected]. Applicants are encouraged to include, with their application form, a resume/CV and a letter of introduction expressing your interest in the role and addressing the values, attributes, and core competencies.

Appointments will be made by CMTBC’s Governance Committee, generally for an initial one-year term.

Applications will be accepted until July 31, 2020.
