If you’re planning continuing education activities that are not on the Approved Continuing Education list, there is no guarantee that you will receive CECs for those activities. Take the following steps to ensure the activities you have in mind are approved to avoid disappointment later:

• Check that your proposed activity meets the Criteria for Approval of continuing education activities.
• Apply for course approval before the September 6, 2018 deadline for applications for approval of CEC activities that are not already on the approved activities list. It may take some time to gather all the information you need to apply, or to contact the instructor and have the instructor or coordinator apply on your behalf, so don’t delay.
• CMTBC will send a decision letter within two weeks of receiving completed applications for course approval, between August 1 and September 6, 2018. Remember, CECs aren’t guaranteed. We recommend applying as soon as possible for an activity you plan to take in fall 2018, if you are counting on CECs.
