Nature of Action: An undertaking and consent of the registrant under section 33(6)(c) of the Health Professions Act (the “Act”) providing for a reprimand and limits and conditions on the registrant’s practice, including:
Reasons: The College received a complaint from a former male patient of the registrant (the “Complainant”), alleging that the registrant entered into a relationship with him while he was the registrant’s patient.
The registrant admitted to entering into a sexual and romantic relationship with the Complainant, who was her patient at the time. The registrant admitted to contravening section 75(a) of the College’s Bylaws and section 2(a) of the Code of Ethical Conduct, being Schedule “C” to the College’s Bylaws, by engaging in sexual conduct with the Complainant, a patient.
